DESCRIPTION:Ageing and the gay man: \nRemarkable Men is about community\, connection and courage. With this is mind we take another new direction this Sunday. \nWe build trust\, connection and community through sharing\, spending time with\, listening\, holding space\, responding\, empathy and compassion. \nSharing our story allows others to see and know us. And it gives the listener the opportunity to see themselves in our story\, to find common humanity and compassion. \nThis Sunday one of our regular and cherished members will be sharing his story in the particular context of the challenges of ageing as a gay man. \nHis story will affect each of us differently and the conversations that follow will provide space for us to express anything that has resonated for us; fears\, joy\, celebration\, excitement\, shame\, regrets in a safe and welcoming environment. \nRe-imagination: Re-markable Men takes a new direction for the Autumn. \nThis is the beginning of a new direction for Remarkable Men. (see below for more details of our twice monthly meetings) Also please note the new start time of 10.30. \nRemarkable Men is a facilitated space where a rich\, diverse range of Gay men meet to explore a topic that impacts our lives. \nDo you want to start Sundays feeling revived + invigorated?Do you crave a more interesting type of conversation?Do you want to connect in an open and non judgemental environment?Do you want to deepen your understanding of yourself? \nCertified Life Coach Darren Brady ( Co founder of The Quest for Gay Men) and Courage Coach\, Jonathan Ward are both certified to deliver the programs of Dr Brené Brown and will guide the group in some fascinating conversations. \nNow in its 6th amazing year\, this Sunday ‘drop in’ group lifts the spirit\, emboldens and helps connect Gay men. \nWho is it for: Anyone who is curious\, open and committed to their self development is welcome to try out this group. \nWhat to bring: Curiosity\, life experience\, openness\, honesty and warmth! \nFrequency: The group will now be meeting twice a month on the 2nd and 4th (5th?) Sunday of each month. \nThe 2nd Sunday of each month will be a “flexi-meet”. It may be in person in a venue\, on line\, a hybrid meeting or a walk-and-talk meeting in a park. This might be a coaching circle or a co-facilitated space (with Jonathan Ward). \nThe fourth (sometimes the 5th Sunday of the month) will be a Zoom call facilitated by Jonathan Ward. \nBeginning in September 2021\, this will focus for the next 12 months on “The Artists Way” by Julia Cameron\, working through the 12 chapters\, one each month. You do not need to attend them all to get the benefit of attending one. DESCRIPTION:“Creativity is the foundation of all change” \nWe have to be able to creatively imagine a new way of being before we can make it happen. \nWhen our creativity is blocked\, shut down or has become inaccessible\, change becomes harder. \nWe begin this Sunday with the first part of a series of Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way” and how to rediscover and reclaim your creative self. \nThe first part is “Recovering a Sense of Safety” and will be a weaving of exercises\, discussion and reflective writing and sharing. This session initiates your creative recovery.
