SUMMARY:Daring Greatly™ (for Gay / Bi / Trans men)
DESCRIPTION:Daring Greatly™ program explores vulnerability\, courage\, shame\, and worthiness – transforming the way you live + love\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nDaring Greatly™ is a 3-day experiential program to help you show up\, be seen\, and live brave in all aspects of your life. \nThe program runs for three consecutive Saturdays 9.30 – 4.30pm and will be virtual using Zoom \nWe will explore the topics using group discussion\, videos\, writing\, creative exercises\, small ‘hub’ conversations and mindfulness. \nLearning Outcomes \nAfter attending Daring Greatly™\, you’ll be able to: \n\nUse your values in day-to-day situations\nTalk about trust in a way that deepens relationships\nCreate and hold boundaries in relationships\nIdentify when you’re feeling vulnerable and respond mindfully\nPractice empathy and compassion with yourself and others\nProcess shame\, scarcity\, and comparison more effectively\nDevelop healthier relationships\n\nAbout Daring Greatly™ \nThe Daring Greatly™ method is based on the research of Brené Brown\, Ph.D. LMSW. Dr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Brené Brown Endowed Chair at the Graduate College of Social Work. \nShe has spent the past fifteen years studying courage\, vulnerability\, shame\, and empathy and is the author of three #1 New York Times Bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection\, Daring Greatly\, and Rising Strong. Her TED talk – The Power of Vulnerability – is one of the top five most viewed TED talks in the world\, with over 25 million viewers. \nDuring the process\, facilitators explore topics such as vulnerability\, courage\, shame\, and worthiness. Participants are invited to examine the thoughts\, emotions\, and behaviours that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. \nThe primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live\, love and lead. \nThe Facilitators: \nDarren Brady has been a life coach and group facilitator for over 15 years. He became certified to deliver the Brene Brown researched programs back in 2014 and has worked with groups in the UK and internationally. In 2012 he cofounded the Social enterprise ‘The Quest for Gay men’ that delivers transformative programs to hundreds of gay + bisexual men. He is a contributor for The Huffington Post \nJonathan Ward is a Courage Coach and teacher of Mindful Self Compassion. He trained with Brené Brown in Texas in 2014 after his coach training with Dr Mark Atkinson in 2010. He co-facilitates Sunday morning’s Remarkable Men and runs 8 week Mindful Self Compassion courses both on line and in person. He is also a well-being ambassador for Aromatherapy Associates and regularly writes articles on self kindness and courage. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n
