SUMMARY:Rising Strong™ Workshop (2019)
DESCRIPTION:Rising Strong™ Workshop (2019)\nSaturday 18th May – Sunday 19th May\, 10am – 5.30pm \n“The truth is that falling hurts. The dare is to keep being brave and feel your way back up” – Brené Brown \nRising Strong™ is a process based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. Her pioneering work uncovered a profound truth: Vulnerability – the willingness to show up and be seen with no guarantee of outcome – is the only path to more love\, belonging\, creativity and joy. But living a brave life is not always easy: We are inevitably going to stumble and fall. \nThe Rising Strong™ process is about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. \n\n  \nRising Strong™ Workshop \nWe all go through struggle – asking somebody out that does not want us\, expressing our feelings and not being understood\, saying something at work that didn’t land very well; the list is endless – failing feels painful and can trigger shame\, disappointment and a whole range of emotions and thoughts. \nSometimes we avoid pursuing our heart desires because we fear failing. And sometimes when we do\, we don’t get back up and we give up. But if we want to break away from the crowd and live wholehearted lives\, we have to be courageous and different; doing this inevitable means we will sometimes fall. \nThis workshop is all about learning to get back up and how to become a highly resilient individual. How do we bounce back from failure? How do you recover from being exposed?   \n  \nBy taking part in the Rising Strong™ Workshop you will learn how to apply the Rising Strong™ process to your day-to-day life and become empowered to write wholehearted new endings to your stories. You will also: \n\nBecome familiar with the physics of vulnerability and the ten rules of engagement for rising strong.\nIdentify the values that are most important in your life and learn why values clarification is essential to the development of resiliency.\nBecome familiar with the Rising Strong process and goals – rise from our falls\, overcome our mistakes\, and face hurt in a way that brings more wisdom and wholeheartedness to our lives.\nRaise your awareness about: the feelings associated with emotions\, your response to emotion\, and how emotion\, thought\, and behavior are interconnected.\nPractice and build skills to engage with and experience emotion\, including mindfulness and breathing.\nDeepen your emotional vocabulary and self-awareness\nComprehend that as humans\, we have meaning-making in our biology and are compelled to make up stories – even if they are based on incomplete information.\nReclaim and integrate orphaned parts of yourself and celebrate that wholeness through creative expression.\n\n  \nThe Rising Strong™ workshop is an interactive mix of – \n\nPsycho experiential and educational exploration\nViewings of videos from Brené\, created specifically for Rising Strong™\nStorytelling\nGroup discussions\nCreative exercises\nCoaching\nSelf reflection and inquiry\n\nIncluded in the registration fee – \n\nYour personal Rising Strong™ workbook\nLight refreshments during the weekend\nPost workshop activity\nOne 50 min Skype coaching session with one of the facilitators (to take place within 3 months of completion of the workshop)\n\n\nDate: \nSaturday 18th May – Sunday 19th May\, 10am – 5.30pm \nVenue: \nOld Diorama Art Centre\, 201 Drummond Street\, Regents Place\, NW1 3FE \nFacilitators:  \nAde Adeniji and Darren Brady – Certified Daring Way™ Facilitators. \nwww.daringeurope.com \n\nABOUT BRENÉ BROWN \nDr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Brené Brown Endowed Chair at the Graduate College of Social Work. SUMMARY:The Quest for True Belonging
DESCRIPTION:The Quest for True Belonging\n6 April\, 11:00 – 17:00. \nWhat we’ll do\n\n“To be Human is to Belong. Belonging is a circle that embraces everything; if we reject it\, we damage our nature. The word ‘belonging’ holds together the two fundamental aspects of life: being and longing\, the Longing of our being and the Being of our longing”\n– John O’Donohue \nHave you ever found yourself pondering on ‘Belonging’?\nPerhaps on one of these questions….. \n– What does Belonging mean?\n– What does it feel like to Belong?\n– What does it feel like to not belong?\n– Where are the places where you feel you Belong?\n– What compromises do you make in exchange to Belong?\n– How does Belonging show up when you’re with your family and friends?\n– How does Belonging show up in your intimate relationships?\n– How does Belonging show up in your professional life? \nWell\, these are some of the questions that we will be exploring during ‘The Quest for True Belonging’ workshop. \nFacilitated by The Quest Co-Founder and Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator\, Adé Adéniji\, “The Quest for True Belonging’ is a deep\, insightful and empowering workshop for men. \nUsing ‘Points of You® ’ tools and methodology\, along with insights from Dr Brené Brown’s bestselling book ‘Braving the Wilderness’\, this fascinating experiential session explores ‘belonging’ from three perspectives – Self\, Other\, Community. \nOur longing to belong starts in our infancy\, at home\, and this is where our exploration will start. As part of our journey\, we will also delve into the subtle differences between ‘fitting-in’ and ‘belonging’\, as well as the sacrifices often made because of our longing to belong. \nAt the end of the session\, you will have more clarity on what belonging looks and feels like to you\, and the qualities you need to embody and express in order to bring this into the world with you. \nSession Objectives:\n– An opportunity to connect with your Wholehearted Self\, and the ones around you from a new perspective.\n– Observing your life from new points of view and experience authentic collective witnessing.\n– An opportunity to cultivate the capacity and capability to belong to yourself\, and have the courage to stand alone.\n– Play and have fun! \nSo bring along your curiosity\, sense of adventure and playfulness for an insightful and powerful session! \nDuration: 11am – 5pm \n“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness. True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are” – Brené Brown

As part of our journey\, we will also delve into the subtle differences between ‘fitting-in’ and ‘belonging’\, as well as the sacrifices often made because of our longing to belong. At the end of the session\, you will have more clarity on what Belonging looks and feels like to you\, and the qualities you need to embody and express in order to bring this into the world with you. You don’t need to bring any materials\, the tools for our exploration will be provided. \n“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness. True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are” – Brené Brown

SUMMARY:Rising Strong™ Workshop (2018)
DESCRIPTION:Rising Strong™ Workshop (2018)\nMarch: Saturday\, 24th at 19:00 – Sunday\, 25th at 17:30 \n“The truth is that falling hurts. You will also: \n\nBecome familiar with the physics of vulnerability and the ten rules of engagement for rising strong.\nIdentify the values that are most important in your life and learn why values clarification is essential to the development of resiliency.\nBecome familiar with the Rising Strong process and goals – rise from our falls\, overcome our mistakes\, and face hurt in a way that brings more wisdom and wholeheartedness to our lives.\nRaise your awareness about: the feelings associated with emotions\, your response to emotion\, and how emotion\, thought\, and behavior are interconnected.\nPractice and build skills to engage with and experience emotion\, including mindfulness and breathing.\nDeepen your emotional vocabulary and self-awareness\nComprehend that as humans\, we have meaning-making in our biology and are compelled to make up stories – even if they are based on incomplete information.\nReclaim and integrate orphaned parts of yourself and celebrate that wholeness through creative expression.\n\n  \nThe Rising Strong™ workshop is an interactive mix of – \n\nPsycho experiential and educational exploration\nViewings of videos from Brené\, created specifically for Rising Strong™\nStorytelling\nGroup discussions\nCreative exercises\nCoaching\nSelf reflection and inquiry\n\nIncluded in the registration fee – \n\nYour personal Rising Strong™ workbook\nLight refreshments during the weekend\nPost workshop activity\nOne 50 min Skype coaching session with one of the facilitators (to take place within 3 months of completion of the workshop)\n\n\nDate: \nSaturday 24 March 2018 (10am – 6pm) and Sunday 25 March 2018 (10am – 5.30pm) \nVenue: \nEffra Space\, 21 Effra Parade\, London SW2 1PX.  \nEffra Space is located in South London between Brixton and Herne Hill\, and is easily reached by public transport. \nNearest tube: Brixton (Victoria Line) (10 minutes walk)\nNearest train: Herne Hill (8 minutes walk)\, Brixton (10 minutes walk)\nBuses: 3\, 37 & 196 (Effra Parade stop\, 1 minute walk); 2\, 415\, 432 (Brixton Water Lane stop\, 3 minutes walk)\nParking: free street parking at weekends. \nFacilitators: Ade Adeniji and Darren Brady – Certified Daring Way™ Facilitators. \nwww.daringeurope.com \n\nABOUT BRENÉ BROWN \nDr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Brené Brown Endowed Chair at the Graduate College of Social Work.
