SUMMARY:Remarkable Men - Soulful Sunday Sessions
DESCRIPTION:Ageing and the gay man: \nRemarkable Men is about community\, connection and courage. With this is mind we take another new direction this Sunday. \nWe build trust\, connection and community through sharing\, spending time with\, listening\, holding space\, responding\, empathy and compassion. \nSharing our story allows others to see and know us. And it gives the listener the opportunity to see themselves in our story\, to find common humanity and compassion. \nThis Sunday one of our regular and cherished members will be sharing his story in the particular context of the challenges of ageing as a gay man. \nHis story will affect each of us differently and the conversations that follow will provide space for us to express anything that has resonated for us; fears\, joy\, celebration\, excitement\, shame\, regrets in a safe and welcoming environment. \nRe-imagination: Re-markable Men takes a new direction for the Autumn. \nThis is the beginning of a new direction for Remarkable Men. (see below for more details of our twice monthly meetings) Also please note the new start time of 10.30. \nRemarkable Men is a facilitated space where a rich\, diverse range of Gay men meet to explore a topic that impacts our lives. \nDo you want to start Sundays feeling revived + invigorated?Do you crave a more interesting type of conversation?Do you want to connect in an open and non judgemental environment?Do you want to deepen your understanding of yourself? \nCertified Life Coach Darren Brady ( Co founder of The Quest for Gay Men) and Courage Coach\, Jonathan Ward are both certified to deliver the programs of Dr Brené Brown and will guide the group in some fascinating conversations. \nNow in its 6th amazing year\, this Sunday ‘drop in’ group lifts the spirit\, emboldens and helps connect Gay men. \nWho is it for: Anyone who is curious\, open and committed to their self development is welcome to try out this group. \nWhat to bring: Curiosity\, life experience\, openness\, honesty and warmth! \nFrequency: The group will now be meeting twice a month on the 2nd and 4th (5th?) Sunday of each month. \nThe 2nd Sunday of each month will be a “flexi-meet”. It may be in person in a venue\, on line\, a hybrid meeting or a walk-and-talk meeting in a park. This might be a coaching circle or a co-facilitated space (with Jonathan Ward). \nThe fourth (sometimes the 5th Sunday of the month) will be a Zoom call facilitated by Jonathan Ward. \nBeginning in September 2021\, this will focus for the next 12 months on “The Artists Way” by Julia Cameron\, working through the 12 chapters\, one each month. You do not need to attend them all to get the benefit of attending one. You can drop in as you feel\, although they do build incrementally from one to the next. \nImportant to know:Payment will now be asked for before the meet-ups.£15 waged£10 unwaged/retired/concessions \nBuy a block of 5 Up-Front for a discounted price of £69 (to be used within 3 months of purchase) or a 10 Up-Front for £130 (to be used within 6 months of purchase) \nTo book your place please use this link and select your ticket: https://bookwhen.com/jonathanw

SUMMARY:Remarkable Men - Soulful Sunday Sessions
DESCRIPTION:“Creativity is the foundation of all change” \nWe have to be able to creatively imagine a new way of being before we can make it happen. \nWhen our creativity is blocked\, shut down or has become inaccessible\, change becomes harder. \nWe begin this Sunday with the first part of a series of Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way” and how to rediscover and reclaim your creative self. \nThe first part is “Recovering a Sense of Safety” and will be a weaving of exercises\, discussion and reflective writing and sharing. This session initiates your creative recovery. The tasks and exercises aim at allowing you to establish a sense of safety\, which will enable you to explore your creativity with less fear. \nIf you are serious about change\, this is a great place to begin. \nRe-imagination: Re-markable Men takes a new direction for the Autumn. \nThis is the beginning of a new direction for Remarkable Men. SUMMARY:Dare to Lead™ Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Dare to Lead™ focuses on developing courage-building skills to help leaders move from armoured leadership to daring leadership\n\n\nDare to Lead™ is a courage-building programme for leaders\, based on the research of Dr Brené Brown. ‘Leaders’ in this context is “someone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people of processes and has the courage to develop that potential”. \nThe most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable\, measurable\, and observable. The programme focuses on developing these courage-building skills to help individuals\, teams and organisations move from armoured leadership to daring leadership: \n\nRumbling with Vulnerability: Facing risk\, uncertainty\, and emotional exposure with courage and clarity.\nLiving into our Values: Identifying\, operationalizing\, and practicing the beliefs that we hold most important.\nBRAVING Trust: Creating or deepening connections in relationships and teams based on the seven elements of trust.\nLearning to Rise: Learning and growing from the failures\, setbacks\, and disappointments that are inevitable when we are brave with our lives.\n\nWhen: \n\nThursday 23rd September 2021 (in person) 0930 – 1700 BST\nThursday 30th September 2021 (online) 1800 – 1930 BST\nThursday 7th October 2021 (online) 1800 – 1930 BST\nThursday 14th October 2021 (online) 1800 – 1930 BST\nThursday 21st October 2021 (online) 1800 – 1930 BST\nThursday 4th November 2021 (in person) 0930 – 1700 BST\n\nParticipants are required to attend all sessions \nThis is a mixed gender program open to all \nWhere: \nGarfield House\, 86 Edgware Road\, London\, W2 2EA \nDetails: \nThe program incorporates 2 powerful in-person days\, in central London\, where the group (limited to 12 people) get the opportunity to bond\, share\, learn and socialise together. There are 4 interactive virtual sessions\, conducted over a month\, that introduce more content and give learners a chance to integrate learning and apply it to their lived experience. \nBreakfast\, lunch and refreshments are provided during the in-person days. \nThursday 23rd September 2021 (in person) 0930 – 1700 \nIntroduction – Brave Leaders & Courage Cultures \n\nThe Heart of Daring Leadership\n\nArmoured Leadership versus Daring Leadership \nRumbling with Vulnerability \n\nSelf-Awareness & Emotional Literacy\nThe Myths of Vulnerability\n\nThursday 30th September 2021 (online) 1800 – 1930 \nRumbling with Vulnerability (contd) \n\nShame Resilience\n\nArmoured Leadership to Daring Leadership Circle Back \nThursday 7th October 2021 (online) 1800 – 1930 \nRumbling with Vulnerability (contd) \n\nEmpathy and Self-Compassion\n\nArmoured Leadership to Daring Leadership Circle Back \nThursday 14th October 2021 (online) 1800 – 1930 \nLiving into Our Values \n\nGrounded Confidence and Rumbling Skills\nEngaged Feedback\n\nArmoured Leadership to Daring Leadership Circle Back \nThursday 21st October 2021 (online) 1800 – 1930 \nBRAVING Trust \nArmoured Leadership to Daring Leadership Circle Back \nThursday 4th November 2021 (in person) 0930 – 1700 \nLearning to Rise \n\nLearning to Rise: The Reckoning\nThe Rumble and The Revolution\n\nIntegration \nArmoured Leadership to Daring Leadership Circle Back \nFacilitation \nThe programme will be led by Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitators\, Adé Adeniji and Darren Brady. \nA comprehensive workbook and specially created video content from Dr Brené Brown accompany this highly interactive process. SUMMARY:Rising Strong™ Workshop (2019)
DESCRIPTION:Rising Strong™ Workshop (2019)\nSaturday 18th May – Sunday 19th May\, 10am – 5.30pm \n“The truth is that falling hurts. The dare is to keep being brave and feel your way back up” – Brené Brown \nRising Strong™ is a process based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. Her pioneering work uncovered a profound truth: Vulnerability – the willingness to show up and be seen with no guarantee of outcome – is the only path to more love\, belonging\, creativity and joy. But living a brave life is not always easy: We are inevitably going to stumble and fall. \nThe Rising Strong™ process is about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. \n\n  \nRising Strong™ Workshop \nWe all go through struggle – asking somebody out that does not want us\, expressing our feelings and not being understood\, saying something at work that didn’t land very well; the list is endless – failing feels painful and can trigger shame\, disappointment and a whole range of emotions and thoughts. \nSometimes we avoid pursuing our heart desires because we fear failing. And sometimes when we do\, we don’t get back up and we give up. But if we want to break away from the crowd and live wholehearted lives\, we have to be courageous and different; doing this inevitable means we will sometimes fall. \nThis workshop is all about learning to get back up and how to become a highly resilient individual. How do we bounce back from failure? How do you recover from being exposed?   \n  \nBy taking part in the Rising Strong™ Workshop you will learn how to apply the Rising Strong™ process to your day-to-day life and become empowered to write wholehearted new endings to your stories. You will also: \n\nBecome familiar with the physics of vulnerability and the ten rules of engagement for rising strong.\nIdentify the values that are most important in your life and learn why values clarification is essential to the development of resiliency.\nBecome familiar with the Rising Strong process and goals – rise from our falls\, overcome our mistakes\, and face hurt in a way that brings more wisdom and wholeheartedness to our lives.\nRaise your awareness about: the feelings associated with emotions\, your response to emotion\, and how emotion\, thought\, and behavior are interconnected.\nPractice and build skills to engage with and experience emotion\, including mindfulness and breathing.\nDeepen your emotional vocabulary and self-awareness\nComprehend that as humans\, we have meaning-making in our biology and are compelled to make up stories – even if they are based on incomplete information.\nReclaim and integrate orphaned parts of yourself and celebrate that wholeness through creative expression.\n\n  \nThe Rising Strong™ workshop is an interactive mix of – \n\nPsycho experiential and educational exploration\nViewings of videos from Brené\, created specifically for Rising Strong™\nStorytelling\nGroup discussions\nCreative exercises\nCoaching\nSelf reflection and inquiry\n\nIncluded in the registration fee – \n\nYour personal Rising Strong™ workbook\nLight refreshments during the weekend\nPost workshop activity\nOne 50 min Skype coaching session with one of the facilitators (to take place within 3 months of completion of the workshop)\n\n\nDate: \nSaturday 18th May – Sunday 19th May\, 10am – 5.30pm \nVenue: \nOld Diorama Art Centre\, 201 Drummond Street\, Regents Place\, NW1 3FE \nFacilitators:  \nAde Adeniji and Darren Brady – Certified Daring Way™ Facilitators. \nwww.daringeurope.com \n\nABOUT BRENÉ BROWN \nDr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Brené Brown Endowed Chair at the Graduate College of Social Work. SUMMARY:The Quest for True Belonging
DESCRIPTION:The Quest for True Belonging\n6 April\, 11:00 – 17:00. \nWhat we’ll do\n\n“To be Human is to Belong. Belonging is a circle that embraces everything; if we reject it\, we damage our nature. The word ‘belonging’ holds together the two fundamental aspects of life: being and longing\, the Longing of our being and the Being of our longing”\n– John O’Donohue \nHave you ever found yourself pondering on ‘Belonging’?\nPerhaps on one of these questions….. \n– What does Belonging mean?\n– What does it feel like to Belong?\n– What does it feel like to not belong?\n– Where are the places where you feel you Belong?\n– What compromises do you make in exchange to Belong?\n– How does Belonging show up when you’re with your family and friends?\n– How does Belonging show up in your intimate relationships?\n– How does Belonging show up in your professional life? \nWell\, these are some of the questions that we will be exploring during ‘The Quest for True Belonging’ workshop. \nFacilitated by The Quest Co-Founder and Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator\, Adé Adéniji\, “The Quest for True Belonging’ is a deep\, insightful and empowering workshop for men. \nUsing ‘Points of You® ’ tools and methodology\, along with insights from Dr Brené Brown’s bestselling book ‘Braving the Wilderness’\, this fascinating experiential session explores ‘belonging’ from three perspectives – Self\, Other\, Community. \nOur longing to belong starts in our infancy\, at home\, and this is where our exploration will start. As part of our journey\, we will also delve into the subtle differences between ‘fitting-in’ and ‘belonging’\, as well as the sacrifices often made because of our longing to belong. \nAt the end of the session\, you will have more clarity on what belonging looks and feels like to you\, and the qualities you need to embody and express in order to bring this into the world with you. \nSession Objectives:\n– An opportunity to connect with your Wholehearted Self\, and the ones around you from a new perspective.\n– Observing your life from new points of view and experience authentic collective witnessing.\n– An opportunity to cultivate the capacity and capability to belong to yourself\, and have the courage to stand alone.\n– Play and have fun! \nSo bring along your curiosity\, sense of adventure and playfulness for an insightful and powerful session! \nDuration: 11am – 5pm \n“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness. True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are” – Brené Brown
