SUMMARY:The Quest Programme for Gay\, Bi + Queer Men
DESCRIPTION:A powerful personal development program for gay\, bi +queer men.\n\n\n“Love takes off the masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.” – James Baldwin \nThe Quest programme is an experiential journey designed to empower gay\, bi & queer men into a powerfully positive way of living –– free from the constraints of the past and unleashed to the possibility of the present. Two professional group facilitators and certified coaches support participants to develop a sense of self to creatively engage in life. Attendees practise new behaviours and engender new beliefs that move them towards authentic living with a connection to others & confident self-expression. \n___________________________________ \nQuest founders Ade + Darren talk about The Quest Program \n____________________________________ \nThe Quest Programme goes to the heart of our challenge to fulfil our lives. \n“The trick for the gay man himself is to resolve the conflict between the inner life and the outer one and become the authentic\, gay person that lies buried beneath.” – Out of the Shadows: Reimagining Gay Men’s Lives by Walt Odets \nSince 2011\, The Quest has been empowering gay\, bi & queer men to rediscover their wholehearted selves and redefine their understanding of community –– within a safe & supportive environment alongside a diverse range of people. The Quest’s work enables enriched relationships with a deeper understanding of personal interactions & motivations –– through self-acceptance & compassion\, and the social awareness to embrace new possibilities. \nBy attending this interactive & engaging weekend participants will: \n\nGain a deeper understanding of how their upbringing has impacted their emotional development.\nDevelop an increased awareness of their limiting beliefs\, behaviours & habits.\nActively begin a healing process.\nIdentify ways to improve their sense of self & relationships.\nEstablish next steps for themselves\, their relationships\, and the world we live in.\nExperience support & intimacy from a group of gay\, bi and queer men.\nCreate a positive & supportive new network of men.\nGain a greater sense of living authentically as a gay\, bi or queer man in today’s world.\n\n \nThe programme itinerary is in three phases: \nPreparation: Attendees will receive six daily reflection emails prior to the face-to-face gathering. \nComing Together: Our group workshop sessions are held over a three-day weekend: Friday (10am – 4.45pm)\, Saturday (10am – 5.30pm) and Sunday (10am – 5.30pm). \nIntegration: Attendees take part in a seven-day email check-in starting on the Monday after our weekend together. There will then be three virtual sessions where attendees explore a range of topics to enable them embed insights from the weekend. \nThe weekend experience will include discussions & sharing in pairs\, triads\, small and large groups. It will include storytelling\, psychological exploration & education\, book readings\, expressive writing\, coaching and self-reflection & inquiry. \n You can find out more about the programme here. \n#gbqmen #gay #gaymen #personaldevelopment #workshop #programme

SUMMARY:The Quest for True Belonging
DESCRIPTION:The Quest for True Belonging\n6 April\, 11:00 – 17:00. \nWhat we’ll do\n\n“To be Human is to Belong. Belonging is a circle that embraces everything; if we reject it\, we damage our nature. The word ‘belonging’ holds together the two fundamental aspects of life: being and longing\, the Longing of our being and the Being of our longing”\n– John O’Donohue \nHave you ever found yourself pondering on ‘Belonging’?\nPerhaps on one of these questions….. \n– What does Belonging mean?\n– What does it feel like to Belong?\n– What does it feel like to not belong?\n– Where are the places where you feel you Belong?\n– What compromises do you make in exchange to Belong?\n– How does Belonging show up when you’re with your family and friends?\n– How does Belonging show up in your intimate relationships?\n– How does Belonging show up in your professional life? \nWell\, these are some of the questions that we will be exploring during ‘The Quest for True Belonging’ workshop. \nFacilitated by The Quest Co-Founder and Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator\, Adé Adéniji\, “The Quest for True Belonging’ is a deep\, insightful and empowering workshop for men. \nUsing ‘Points of You® ’ tools and methodology\, along with insights from Dr Brené Brown’s bestselling book ‘Braving the Wilderness’\, this fascinating experiential session explores ‘belonging’ from three perspectives – Self\, Other\, Community. \nOur longing to belong starts in our infancy\, at home\, and this is where our exploration will start. As part of our journey\, we will also delve into the subtle differences between ‘fitting-in’ and ‘belonging’\, as well as the sacrifices often made because of our longing to belong. \nAt the end of the session\, you will have more clarity on what belonging looks and feels like to you\, and the qualities you need to embody and express in order to bring this into the world with you. \nSession Objectives:\n– An opportunity to connect with your Wholehearted Self\, and the ones around you from a new perspective.\n– Observing your life from new points of view and experience authentic collective witnessing.\n– An opportunity to cultivate the capacity and capability to belong to yourself\, and have the courage to stand alone.\n– Play and have fun! \nSo bring along your curiosity\, sense of adventure and playfulness for an insightful and powerful session! \nDuration: 11am – 5pm \n“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness. True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are” – Brené Brown
